Vito Santarsieri, MD

Division Director, Gastroenterology

Dr. Vito Santarsieri has more than 20 years of experience in sub-specialized anatomic pathology, cytopathology and surgical pathology. A fellowship trained pathologist who has read more than 1.2 million GI cases, he has held strategic roles at a number of prestigious national laboratories.

As the Executive Medical Director at Lab Corp/DIANON Systems, Dr. Santarsieri was an innovator of GI pathology. He built the DIANON GI pathology program into an industry leader, rising from Staff Pathologist to Executive Medical Director. During his tenure, he developed and implemented numerous measures that earned accolades for increasing the accuracy and effectiveness of his team.

Prior to assuming the role of Division Director of Gastroenterology at LIPath, Dr. Santarsieri was the Director of GI Pathology at Bostwick Laboratories (Gastrocor) and was a Senior Pathologist at CBLPath, Inc. At these full-service labs, he headed the team responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of prostate and gastrointestinal cancer, cytology and urological diseases. His leadership in anatomic pathology set industry standards that continue today.

Dr. Santarsieri is board certified in anatomic pathology and cytopathology. He received his M.D. from the University “La Sapienza” in Rome. After serving as a resident and chief resident at North Shore University Center in New York, he was a fellow of Oncologic Pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and cytology fellow at Montefiore Medical Center under the direction of the late Dr. Leopold Koss. He was the Assistant Professor of Pathology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx before his tenure at DIANON.

As a leader in the pathology field, Dr. Santarsieri will be leading the Gastroenterology Pathology Suite at LIPath, a sub-specialized anatomic pathology laboratory with a suite of innovative testing and technology services. In this role, Dr. Santarsieri will be in charge of building the sub-specialized pathology team and leading LIPath into the next step in laboratory excellence.

Deloar Hossain, MD

Division Director of Uro and Med Dir of Platinum

Dr. Hossain completed his fellowship in genitourinary pathology with Dr. David Bostwick and served as assistant professor and provincial reference genitourinary pathologist for the province of Manitoba, Canada at the Health Sciences Center of University of Manitoba for 5 years. Dr. Hossain joined Bostwick Laboratories in 2006 and served as a pathologist and the Medical Director of Molecular Diagnostics and Cytopathology from 2006 to 2014. Dr. Hosssain’s significant achievements over the last 15 years of clinical practice includes more than 80 publications and presentations in national and international journals and professional forums. Dr. Hossain also co-authored book chapters in Urologic Pathology with David Bostwick. Dr. Hossain is board-certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and cytopathology. He is also certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in general pathology. He is a manuscript reviewer for many prestigious journals. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the International Society of Urological Pathology, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, and the College of American Pathologists.

Fatemeh Kalantrapour, MD

Pathologist

Dr. Kalantarpour brings her experience in surgical pathology and hematopathology to Platinum Pathology. She has served as an assistant professor at University of Manitoba and private laboratories including Gynecor-Bostwick Laboratories. She completed her residency in anatomic pathology at University of Manitoba in Canada and her fellowship in hematopathology at Moffitt Cancer Center. She is board certified in anatomical pathology and hematopathology by the American Board of Pathology and is also board certified in anatomical pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Sanjiv Prabhu, MD

Medical Director, Metamark

He has completed a genitourinary pathology fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and a surgical pathology fellowship at University of Illinois at Chicago. He has several years of experience in high-volume GU Pathology and urine cytomolecular pathology with FISH and PTEN. Dr. Prabhu is Board-Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.

Jianxiong Richard Bao, MD, PhD

Dr. Bao has 10 years of experience in pathology practice including more than six years in high-volume urine cytology, cytomolecular pathology, prostate biopsy, and other GU Pathology, gynecological pathology, and gastrointestinal pathology. Dr. Bao has served as pathology consultant for physician owned labs, and he completed a cytopathology fellowship at St. Louis University School of Medicine. He has completed the intensive Ultrasound Fine Needle Aspiration Advanced Practical Pathology Program through the College of American Pathologists. Dr. Bao is Board-Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology.

Patricia Caudell, MD

Dr. Caudell has 15 years of experience in general surgical pathology and GU pathology, including prostate pathology and urine cytology. She has completed the intensive Prostate Advanced Practical Pathology Program through the College of American Pathologists. Dr. Caudell is Board-Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
